First let me say, Mark, my condolences. I know how hard rescue/rehab can be at times. Unfortunately, there are some that cannot be saved.....

Shady, now would be a good time for you to start doing more research. After seeing several of your answers to questions as well as your own questions, both you and your ig may benefit greatly from expanding your knowledge of iguana husbandry. James Hatfield has an excellent book entitled Green Iguana: The Ultimate Owner's Manual. I highly suggest that you pick up a copy. And continue research on the web. A good rule of thumb is that if you see a piece of information in two or more locations there is a good chance that it is true. Don't base all of your husbandry knowledge on one source of info. And ALWAYS ask questions....

As far as any potential rehabilitation would have been concerned had Ceasar survived, his future care and recovery would have been MUCH more in depth than simply providing "humidity heat and food". By looking at his picture, Caesar's condition was deplorable to put it kindly. Were I to find an iguana, or any animal for that matter, in that state of "health" for lack of a better term rest assured that I would have an animal cruelty investigator looking into the case without even batting an eye. Caesar would have been in for a series of calcium injections, physical exams, blood work, constant UV exposure, dietary supplimentation and several other methods and recommendations.

Iguana husbandry is nowhere near as simple as I have seen you make it out to be so far. Hopefully, I'm making too much out of this and you really do understand what is involved here. Please prove me wrong.....
