HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!.................and a question!

Well its my birthday today but I have a question to ask anyways. Is there a reason why I found my iguana asleep in the waterbowl last night after lights out and why he was sitting in it today for about 1 1/2 hours and I just pulled him out before lights out now?
He usually only goes in to poop and drink but I've never seen him stay in for so long before. The only thing I can think of is that he's shedding, but he's never done it before.
