With proper care, igs can grow up to six feet long, sometimes more. I am hoping from this question that you have not already gotten an ig and are not just now researching them. A good substrate to use is newspaper, some astroturfs are ok. Don't ever use pellets or woodchips of anykind. The enclosure should be changed when it gets dirty, but the newspaper every to every other day with a mega clean once a week. An adult ig enclosure should be ATLEAST: twice the ig's length for length and height, with the ig's length for wideness. Anything bigger is great. Remember to have UVB and UVA lights; it's very important.
