:The only thing wrong with her is that he says she's a little pale, but that that's normal for an iguana in the winter in Ohio.
Ohio igs can have the same environment as Greenland igs. We make little space-ships (habitats) so they won't be killed by our harsh environment. Personally, I keep my igs very close to UVB tubes. They are usually within six inches of a tube.
: He said to try to get a little more sunlight in her cage, but that's a little difficult since my room has but one window. How did some of you guys get around this?
Sunshine in the winter, in the latitude of the States, is like decaffeinated coffee - no kick. An ig can spend all day outside and not get enough UVB. But they do enjoy the brightness of the sun. Once they are used to it, bright light is psychologiocally good for igs.
: I don't want to put the cage right in front of the window cuz she might get overheated,
I fried an ig once that way :-( What a great temp foster dad *I* turned out to be! You are wise to be cautious about the ability of the sun to overheat an enclosure.
:so I kind of have it so the right side is at least in the sun's path. It's not a south-facing (or whichever direction gets the most sun) window either so it's not a whole lot of sun.
That's good. He probably goes over there when the sun is available. Mine do that, too.
If you want to perk him up, put more light over his cage for the purpose of extra light, while keeping them high enough to minimize the added heat. If you do that, be consistent so his hormones don't waver as the new lighting comes and goes :-)
Roger :-)
Anyway, any thoughts would be appreciated!
