: Spike was a happy iguana ,but we moved his cage to the bathroom for humidity puposes, and he hated it and kept escaping. We moved him 3 months ago.Up till then he was very happy ,docile and a big eater. He is our first iguana and hes a year and half old.We took him to the vet and he did have worms but we fixed that.He still isnt eating rarely drinking and has lost wieght.Im scared for him.And now last week he bit me for the first time and his attitude has changed,he is biting the mirror, the couch anything he can get ahold of.His coloring hasnt changed. He really seems to be targetting me out of the family for aggrasiveness.I dont know why.Any help with both problems is appreciated.could the biting be from him going in breeding season this time of year and what can i do to get him eating and drinking again.

Mine was the sweetest thing, too. All of a sudden, he started head bobbing at me (not the normal bob, but a faster one) and came right up and bit me. (This started maybe a month ago).
I was surprised. He also stopped eating as much as he used to (and I didn't move his "perch" anywhere). He then started "carrying on" with some little stuffed iguanas in my daughter's room.
He was diving into mirrors (I have a door mirror --he would dive right off the bed into the mirror). He was also smashing his nose into the window (at night when he could see the "other iguana"). His nose is a mess.

Your iggie is probably going thru the same thing.
Are you finding dried (or wet) seminal plugs anywhere to indicate he's matured? Melissa Kaplan (anapsid.org) said to give them a "love sock". I made one myself (just a sock stuffed with socks), but he preferred the stuffed animals. If yours doesn't have any of that, he probably has made you the object of his affection.
Try giving him something else and see what happens.
