Hi
Ive been keeping up with all this, and I would like to give my opinion. I belive that Alona is rite in most spects of her having these two iggys. I just recently rescued a small iggy from a neighbor. This iggy had been thru almost everything. The ppl i rescued her from, had two at one time. They became unintersted in them and wanted to purchase a water dragon, so instead of buying a new cage for the water dragons they decided to stop feeding the iggys, and turn off their uv lighting hoping they would die quickly so they could have the open space. Tehese iggys had been kept in one 20 gallon cage so they were already stressed and not eating properly. By the time I was notified of the two, one had died and the other was in horrible condition. I have kept many reptiles and amphibians including: cornasnakes, treefrogs, leopard geckos, many monitor species, and many species of turtle and tortoises. Yet I have never kept a green iggy. I went to this persons home and took the iggy and brought it to my home. Immediatley i put it into a ten gallon cage( and before everyone goes off on the size of the cage i would like to say that the iggy is no longer than a foot and it is only temporary) I then gave him an electrolyte containing substance and tried to get him feeding on something. I then took him to vet. Now, i am getting her a new wire ferret style tall cage, with three levels for basking and feeding. Honestly what im tryin to say is that although she may be wrong in outting them together when they are fighting, at least they are in the protection of someone who cares for them and honestly wants the best for them, but may not understand one or two aspects of keeping them. Im sure they are in better hands than where they originated from. I do understand the other ppl's points of veiw but i do not understand why someone would comment on a women's capabilities as a mother or keeper of iggy's. Would youy rather the iggy's in the homes of those who dont care for them, or in the care of someone who honestly wants the best for them but may make mistakes in the process. Ease up a little at least she cares.
thanx
