Time is definately an important factor when taking care of an iguana. I have two snakes myself, and they do not come close to the amount of time I spend with the iguana. My iguana needs a lot of time out of the cage (which is always supervised) otherwise he ends up scratching the glass getting bored. Food preperation also can be time consuming seeing as they need a variety of fresh foods daily.
They may be time consuming, but also very rewarding pets. To me its always a pleasure to take him out of his cage and often get irritated when we have to go out cause I cant spend time with my green friend.
