2 months ago my pet iguana elvis died of natural causes at the age of 14. so about 2 weeks ago i went to my local petshop and purchased a baby iguana. it is approx. 1 month old. When i first got it, it was very skiddish and jumpy. i couldnt even hold it without it squirming. after about a week of handling him constantly, he is eating out of my hand. im very happy and i cant wait til he gets bigger. elvis wasnt a juvenile when i got him so having one this small is totally new to me. my question is, i had a 150 watt incandescent basking lamp for elvis. will this be too much for an iguana this small. the lamp is approx 1 foot from where the iguana basks. there is alot of heat generated from there but it seems to like it is this okay?
