I just realized that there are probably don't remember this iguana! At was a long time ago! Well, anyway, here is a little information on him before his new home.

This little guy was owned by my teacher and kept in my classroom. He was in TINY little cage that was made of hard metal screen that rubbed his nose raw and caused him to get mouth rot.

He had no lighting, and just a human heating pad on low for heat. He was fed 3-4 times a week on Romain lettuce. He didn't always have water because he didn't "need" it. He was left at the cold school over weekends, and for a week over March break.

I tried and tried to get through to the teacher to tell him that this was wrong. He decided that I was a kid, I didn't know anything, so he wouldn't take what I was saying seriously.

Every evening, my parents and I would talk about how to approach the teacher so that I could make him listen and not offend him. It just didn't work.

I approached a member of my herpetoculture society asking for help. One member whom I am good friends with told me that she did in fact know of someone who needed another iguana. It's mate had recently died of old age and the other one was depressed and not eating. I told this to my teacher and was really suprised that he decided to give the lady a call. The lady took Classy for a visit to the vet at her own expense and for a visit to her other iguana. They didn't get along right away, but the lasy fell in love with him and had to keep him. Luckily, they get along fine now.

Just before Classy went to the lady, he had got really depressed and stopped finishing his meals. I think we were just in time!

That is a really short version! Thanks for all your help and support! If you guys weren't here, Classy would have probably died by now! Wendy
