And don't forget the possibility of salmonella contamination. 99% of igs carry the bacteria. For those that say they've had their ig tested and shown negative it CAN show up later in life. Best to always assume that you have to deal with it.
Ig proofing a house may not be the easiest task. Be prepared for broken things - curtains, lights, etc. Even free roamers need a central location for feeding, warmth and security so some type of enclosure will be necessary. Seceral basking spots will also need to be set up around that house as well to ensure that the ig is receiving enough UV light and heat. This would be a good application for mercury vapor bulbs. If you're not somewhere tropical you're going to have to keep an eye on humidity and hydration issues as well. Igs have something of a cat mentality so be prepared to find them in the last place you'd look.
