19 years is impressive, but igs are way more susceptible to getting their immune system run down in colder climates. Sometimes I do not think they choose well for themselves. Mexico, Central, and South America are very warm climates-- and this would be the weather they are meant to live in.

If an ig feels safer somewhere darker and colder rather than a basking spot, he will choose the colder place... and that is no good. So especially for a new environment where the ig is stressed out... he should be kept warm.
