From the photo, it looks like this is a plastic fixture. IF it is a plastic fixture, I would take a pass and pick up a ceramic dome fixture. herpsupplies.com sells a 10 inch ceramic dome for about $10.00. The plastic fixtures will melt easily, especially if you decide to go with a mercury vapor type bulb.
