The flowers are fine to feed whole. They do not have as good a calcium to phosphorus ratio as the leaves, but the igs love them, and by weight, they aren't too large a part of the diet. One flower a day is OK. The leaves are great, have a better ratio than the flowers, and can make up a fairly large portion of the green "salad" in the daily ration.
