Christy, what you're looking at is Double D's nuchal crest. (Nuchal meaning on the neck) This is a sign of approaching maturity. Double D's becoming a teenager! This crest is where the longest spines grow normally. I would guess that if Double D's going to have spines, they may show up here first.
At any rate, this is normal, and both sexes have them, although males are very pronounced, and may become so large they flop to the side.
As to the folds, Bug's full of them in this area, and once again, just a sign of maturity. She sure looks good!
