concave scales?

Hello everyone,
while Tarzan was out today, I noticed that the top scales on his left, back leg were concave. They were always smooth, what could be causing this? Could it be because a shed is coming or does it have something to do with humidity? I mist him when I see the humidity below 70%. The scales on his other back leg seem to be beginning to turn like this as well. They are rough and curved inward. Any suggestions?
