Definitely adopt one, whether it be old or young. Expect that you will never be able to keep them together anyway and they may not ever get along (there is usually a dominance issue -- and this can be with the same sex too). Obviously you can tell the sex easier though if they are older so you can avoid the mating dilemma. Basically if you love igs and want two, just expect to keep them separated and have 2 of everything (cages, lights, etc.) Your girl might get jealous or annoyed at a new one but you never know.
