In Reply to: Should I get a baby? posted by Alona on December 06, 2001 at 12:56:27:
: Hello
: Okay, I was over the pet shop today, and seen like these ten or so green Iguana (juvys) in like a 30-40 gallon aquarium, and they we're so cute, but there was their "buisness" alll over the bottom of the tank.. and there was a few like just sitting in it. I have a full grown 4-5 ft Female Iguana now, and she is like REALLY REALLY WELL behaved, she NEVER EVER bit, bobbed or whips her tail, the only thing she does when shes not in the mood is shuts her eye on me, but I could do anything I want with her and she'll just shut her eye, I've seen her bob at my boyfriends Iguana (his is full grown too) so we kept them apart, and I was wondering if I went and got a baby one they might not get along well or it possibly could affect Iggys behavior...? also, is the ig's you buys in a pet shop fixed or not? cause I really wouldnt want a male cause they could possibly mate when He got older...
: sorry this is a bit long but I seriously thought about getting another one, but im not sure if iggy would take to him/her and also iggy is a roamer, and has her certain basking spot, I wanted to know if she would mind sharing that or what..?
: well thanks. please reply Cause I would really like to know! :)
If yours is already a big one and well-behaved, he might attack the new one and start getting aggressive. Big igs can easily kill little ones and you NEVER know if two will get along or not until it's (sometimes) too late.
