: So my little adoptee went to the vet today. My normal herp vet was so proud of me for taking her, he knows I adopt snakes, but he said he was glad to see me taking in an animal that usually needs so much help, since I take such good care of all my slithery kids (yes, yes, ego stroking, I know). Anyway, he said she definitely is showing signs of MBD, but he's glad I caught it so early. He said to give her calcium supplements every day, and to not feed her anything but the well-known good iguana veggies and fruits (turnip greens, collard, mustard, endive, snow peas, green beans, parsnips, dandelion, figs) which was the exact diet she was getting anyway. He gave me antibiotics to give her for the abcess (can't remember the name, I'm not home right now) and once they're done he's going to remove it. She got fecal-tested, the whole nine yards. She's SO mad at me right now :-) I wanted to get some opinions on the best kind of lighting to use on her, to help curtail the MBD. Should I use the normal 150W heat and uva/uvb light, a uvb/uva/heat light by itself, or a uva/uvb/heat light AND another uvb/uva tube light together? Anyone have any favorite brands?

A l00 watt bulb for heat and a 5.0 fluorescent for UVB. I know there are other kinds out there and I'm sure you will be given the names from other people.
