Okay- first of all, i wouldn't buy from the pet store you just described..if the cage isn't clean and they are fed properly, then that person shouldn't be supported by buying an iguana from them. I learned that the hard way, i bought a baby ig, spent the money and took it to the vet..and the vet told me the iguana was going to die no matter what i did for it. At least find a pet store that cares enough to keep them in the proper cage with lighting and heat. It can prevent problems that they can have when not in the right conditions. =)
I'd say before you buy a baby look into adopting one that's not being kept right, or that needs a good home. =) I tried finding one of those but couldn't in the area i was in, so i ended up buying (for 20 dollars) a year old iguana that had been in the care of a woman who had no idea what she was doing. The pet store (yes, a pet store!) was in the process of rehabilitating the little guy and i decided to take it home...
Hehe, i wouldn't put a baby iguana with an older iguana, the older one would probably tear them up...But since i don't have much experiance with letting 2 iguanas roam together, i'm gonna shut up =)
