At this age, it is probably better to keep him contained so he doesn't get lost. He needs to be kept 1 ft or less away from his UV light and he needs a heat bulb too (or Active UV combines both in one). You need to maintain a very warm temperature.

The best books you can read James Hatfield's Giant green Iguana Manual and Melissa Kaplan's Iguanas for Dummies. (watch out there are a lot of bad old books with outdate info out there still being published.. I have a bunch of them)
