The idea is to keep them very clean along with washing your hands a lot. If someone else can clean them, that would be good.

I am also trying that nutribac product which claims to build up your lizards natural bacterial-- helping it battle more parasites and also rid them of salomonella. I don't know if it works but I'm testing it out.
