When my ig was a tiny ig and was in a cage, I used paper towels or newspapers. That way when Max "went", I threw it away and kept the cage nice and clean.

Now he free roams in a spare bedroom (only in a cage when I'm away overnight and I use paper towels in there, too). He "goes" in the tub in the morning (most mornings) and if he has to go during the day I keep a vinyl tablecloth with a towel on top on the bed. I keep an old beach towel on top of the cage (where he lays)and wash it frequently.
