Hi it's been months sense I have been on here, nikki's doing much better now from her broken toe's and we finally found the cause..reptile carpet.. shge has 3 broken toes from that stuff..shes tiny at only just under 4" stv..and weighs 24 ounces
going on 9 months old. when I would get up in the morning and check on her she would be in her usual spot sleeping like nothing has happened then I would see shes broken a toe during the night. 3 trips to the vet! 3 weeks ago I woke up to find she had broken another toe and her tail...it was her 3rd toe to brake..she did it bad..it was her long toe on right rear foot broken right on the foot part and dislocated..big bump on it.. and seeing her tail broken off about halfway.. I didn't know how she was doing all this untel I came home from work early last week and seen her just crawling out from under the reptile carpet in her habitat and how much she was struggling at it,her toes cought and bent all different was as she crawled out and climbed up her tree looking at me all innocently. it's that carpet with the very tiny little loops..it's nice and soft but from a trip to the vet with her for another checkup and I took a piece of the carpet and nikki's vet looked it over..he said it's is surly the cause of her injuries.. just as she was sitting and crawling around on it he showed how her tiny nails get cought under the loops just as we were watching..she could turn or try and jump and with a nial cought like that it's so easy to brake small toes like on baby or juvi's.. he said it would be fine for adult ig's but very bad for baby's.. she currently has news paper.. shes been shredding it all along the edges..
anyways 1 toe has healed very well with the tiny splint.. shes doing very good, eating lots and still acts as nothing has happened.. still loves exploring and swimming but I have removed her from her large 6x7 habitat to a 40 gallon aquarium for the time untel she can heal up..
I do have a few very cute pics of her.. and one with her tiny splint if anyone could help me posting them I don't have a site to put them on..

Nikki's dad :)
