Well for one your iguana won't die if you start now and take the proper steps.
Secondly, your vet is wrong. A "hot spot" should be provided, and 95 sounds pretty good. 75 and 85 are too cool for a young iguana.
Iguanas need a night time temp of I believe 70 for young ones (someone correct me ?) so you'll need a night time heat source for night. Something that makes zero light such as a heat pad, ceramic heating element or such. That can turn on at night to keep your iguana warm, then turn off in the morning when the lights come on.
Also a proper UVB light is a MUST HAVE.
a 20 gallon tank is really REALLY WAAAAAAYYYY To small. Your iguana must get a bigger enclosure right away. 20 gallons are hardly good enough for tiny hatchlings. Iguanas need big time room. My adult iguana has a 6 by 7 by 5 feet enclosure. Built out of wood and glass and some screening for ventilation.
It is confusing and a HUGE commitment, but reading that book is good advice....you can trust the things you read there, and read other GOOD sources as well.
