Yeah, like Nanci & Craig said, their "violence" (if that's really the correct term, I'm not necessarily sure it is - I mean, ok, if your boy/girlfriend dug their teeth into your neck every time they wanted to... yer know... ok, that'd seem pretty violent, but these are igs, heh) is all relative to the individual its upbringing and environment.

Take Skittles for example, he's our 3ft male, about 3 years old now... I don't think he knows there's supposed to be a "season" as such, heh. He escaped and was gone for a whole year (this was before me and the GF got together so don't know all the details), but back in March when I first got here, he was crazy as a rattler, and now he's simmered down a bit in the months following that.

We did get a female (4ft long) a few months ago, and whenever he's seen her his head's been bobbing like I-don't-know-what. A week or so ago, I completed construction of the outdoor enclosure (L10ftxW5ftxH7ft), and both Annie & Skittles are in it together.

For the first few days, he was constantly bobbing his head like an epileptic energizer bunny, but Annie wasn't having any of it. Annie's the most gentle animal you've ever seen. She's never ONCE whipped her tail at anything in the whole time we've had her, and lets you stroke her, play with her, pick her up, peel her skin, she loves it.

Skittles on the other hand, well basically if you wanna stroke him, it's still up to him, he doesn't always like it, but sometimes he's cool with it.

But, one thing I did notice, if you get a misting spray bottle, with fairly warm water in it, and spray around their head and chest, they raise their head right up, close their eyes, and just soak it in. Skittles LOVES this and after you've sprayed him a few times lets you do whatever you want :)

So, give it a try if your male's being a lil violent. Like I said, I don't know whether it's seasonal or just the way some of them are.
