: Hello, how do you tell if your female ig is pregnant with unfertile eggs? Does she look fat? My ig is almost 2yrs old, or maybe 1.5 yrs. She has been a little chubby for a long time. I feed her what she wants. She loves food. I just dont know what age the egg bound problem can happen. She is single with no male igs around. She has a very good diet. If you need more info, just let me know. Thanks, Yvette

Yvette-
my iguana Kameko just had 37 unfertilized eggs. Kameko decreased her food intake dramatically about two months-1 1/2 months before, and became very antsy in her room. She would pace back and forth against the walls, trying to climb them and find a way out. I was concerned that she was egg bound because of her decreased stools (once every couple of days--very small), so we saw a vet and had an ultrasound done.
I recommend seeing a vet. Some signs to be concerned about would be her coloring turning a brown/tan color and her not going to the bathroom regularly. Give her a box with sand in it--so she has some privacy and an egg box in case she is not egg bound. hope this helps!
chloe.
