Hi all!
Good news. We went to the vet and found out it is not MBD. I am by no means an expert on iguanas and would encourage anyone with a similar problem to have your ig checked out by a vet. My problem was the shed. When Gia shed her head skin the scales around her "lips" was the last to go. While she was shedding, the scales trapped moisture and the scales basicly swelled, causing the uneven alignment of her "lips." According to my vet this is perfectly normal, when the moisture dries out the scales fall into place.
My vet gave me a quick and easy tip to check for MBD. He advised me that if you press gently against the tip of the nose it will be soft and easily give way under gentle pressure if MBD is present. A normal ig's nose will be hard and will not press in.
Again - I can't stress enough, if you think there's a problem there probably is, go to a vet. Better to spend a couple of dollars finding out you're okay than wait until there's a problem and it's too late to fix it.
