hi everyone! i posted this message at the greenigsociety board, but i'm looking for as much input as possible so here goes!!!
i have a 1.5 year old female iguana named reggie...yes...she has a boy's name... she is 11" nose-vent and is incredibly healthy! my only concern is.....
a couple weeks ago reggie got a water blister under some dead skin and it scared the living daylights out of me so i took her to the vet immediately...the vet told me that it was a water blister caused
by some shedding skin that was just being stubborn, and she cleaned it up and told me everything would be perfect. she also told me that reggie was one of the healthiest iguanas she's ever seen, so
i take pride in that!
anyhoo...the vet told me that reggie's sore spot would dry up and likely scab over...and it did just that.... it was pretty ugly for a while but looks like it is healing now...and i would just like to know
what exactly this healing process looks like. the scab appears to be slowly flaking off, and the skin underneath is a whitish pinkish color... i just want to make sure this is all normal in the healing of
such a minor "injury"!!!! the minor wound has been cleaned daily every since it happened, and i think i am just paranoid! i couldnt find any decent pictures on the internet of what iguana's skin looks like when it's scabbed over and when that scabbed area is healing...so some feedback would be greatly appreciated =)
here is a picture of my cute, multi-talented lizard..... :)
