I would still choose the bathroom over another room so you can find him easier (and less of a mess if he poops (take out all the rugs and nice towels). Set up a basking area on the counter or on a towel rack with an old towel. Put the humidifier in there too. This is what I would do anyway.... wouldn't want him running loose in Granny's house--eeeeks!!
