Yes, some iguanas will eat them and it is harmful if they get blocked in the intestine. It is best to get fake plants that do not come apart easily. My current iguana has never tried to eat any inanimate objects so I am not so worried with him (my bearded dragon is also fine with the plants) BUT my last iguana ate many thing he should not have so his cage was a bit more sparse to try to keep him from endangering himself. Monitor the personality of your ig and error on the side of safety.
