Unfortunately, I'm not sure that there is a concrete answer to it. I don't think anyone has actually delved that deeply into the science of keeping iguanas. About the best way to determine it yourself would be to get a hand held radiometer and take readings in your area for a few days. Then measure the output from your UV source and do some math. Suffice it to say that one 12 hour period under an artificial UV source only amounts to a fraction of exposure when compared with natural sunlight - even when using a mercury vapor bulb.
