Came home tonight to find that Phaedra had laid her eggs already!
Every year is getting earlier. (and easier on her)
3 years ago she re-absorbed around the end of January, 2 years ago 42 eggs in the middle of January, last year 38 eggs on Christmas day (guess she thought she was giving me a present), and now this year WAY early and only 11 eggs. Also, she only went off food for 2 weeks prior to major digging in her nest box, and laying. She even had the strength to return to their basking spot all by herself after laying. *this is a first!
Hope it continues to stay this easy every year!
