and we have ours outside just about all yr round.Our two igs are large tho and we no longer use leads for them,but we use ferret harnesses that we've altered to go around the hips so it doesn't hurt their spikes.Just make the harness ajustable and cut off the clip,tie a knot and you'll have a harness for the hips.
