: I've heard of a lot of people on here who have there Ig's 'potty trained'. I was just wondering how exactly you go about potty training an iguana?

What I did to "potty train" mine -- I give him a warm bath every morning and he started going in the tub. I keep a large plastic cup at the tub and as soon as it comes out, I get it with the cup and flush it down the toilet. The problem is -- iggies usually go more than once a day. Up until three weeks ago (and I've had my ig for l8 months) I had it trained to go on a towel on the bed (with a vinyl tablecloth under it). I went away and my mom watched him for a weekend and when I got home, he started going on the floor (still goes in the tub in the morning, though).

What you can do, too -- iggies look like they're doing splits when they're getting ready to "go", you can pick it up and put it where you want it to go and see if that works. If I catch mine, I put him on the bed.
