: My Iguana is a about a year and a half old and her cage is about 5 feet high, 4 feet wide and 4 feet deep. When I take her out, she'll wander around the room a little, sometimes crawl on me, si on my hat, but after about a half hour she'll just wander back in her cage and sit on one of her shelves. I figure this is because she is still tiny and a little scared. But just incase I thought I should make sure everything is ok.
That sounds fine. Max (my iggie) is the same age as yours. Mine wanders all over and has days he hides under things. I take him out and put him back under his light and he'll crawl under my furniture again. When he's ready, he'll go back to his basking spot (mine isn't in a cage unless I go away for a day or more). Your iggie probably feels safe and comfortable on the shelf, so tends to always go back there.
