My iguana has been - well, I can't tell if it's wheezing or what. I can't tell if it's choking or trouble breathing, but either is bad! It's 11pm, so I can't take him to the vet, and I don't know what to do!
I'll describe what he's doing. He opens his mouth and makes a noise as he breaths, it seems more like he's trying to push out than in, so in a way I think it's choking. It must be terrible for him, but it has been going on for about an hour, and it hasn't gotten worse. And he'll go for 5 minutes without openig his mouth - what does this mean.
I've given him extra bowls of water hoping if it's choking he'll drink, but he won't drink. I'm spraying him with water (hoping he'll drink), but he closes his mouth.
Anyone have any any idea what's going on? All I've been doing is researching on web pages (no help), and comforting him by petting him. What can I do? Help!
I feel helpless watching him suffer like this.
