I have a 2 year old male iguana, Jar-Jar, who has 3 other buddies to live with, Sebulba a 2 year old female, and Yoda a 15 month old male, and Jabba a 13 month old female. Everyone was getting along pretty well for a long time, especially since I had to return Darth Maul to where I got him a year ago. (He was really beating up on everyone, including me, but he was never friendly to begin with) I just built them a new, very large enclosure, 30" wide, 72" long, and 66" in height(and it cost me about $110 in total, including the water based stain), and everything was going well. They have a running water fountain, heat lamps, heating elements, room to climb. Now Jar Jar has gotten very, VERY tempermental. He postures when i open the cage to change food, or do anything in there. He actually lunged for my neck and scratched me the other day, and I almost can't pet any of the others in there, or try to take them out. Even when he is asleep, I can pet him for only a few minutes before he realizes what someone is doing to him. I am the primary caregiver, I feed them everyday, they have a huge window to sit in front of, everything is warm, moist and cozy. Is he just getting into mating or what? His colors have gone from normal green, to orangish browns. Is this also something that is going to go on a long time or what? I can't afford to take myself to the doctor if he rips my neck apart.
