: was just wandering if yur young iggys ever went to the edge of a shelf or basking station and acted as if he/she wanted to jump.my iggy is only around 6 months old and likes to be out and is to what i believe to be very tame. enough he/she doesnt try to run and hide but comes to me to lay down and rest then he/she is off again. any way it scares me to death to see him/her act as if he/she wants to jump.
Mine is constantly jumping. He free roams in a bedroom and part of his "play" is jumping from the edge of the dog pen (his basking spot is on top of it) to the bed and back again. Then he will jump from the bed to my puzzle table and back and to a chair. When he was smaller, he didn't always make it and would fall (fortunately it was a low fall on carpet). We talked about that a few times on the other iguana board I go to and sometimes it's their way of playing, since they don't play in the way other animals do (with small toys). I often see mine get up from basking, do a bit of jumping around and running down the hall and back and then goes back to basking.
