The other day me and my boyfriend, who also loves reptiles, were hangin out at this park in Miami, fl. I was just sitting around relaxin when i turn and see these dark masses all over the lawn buy this pond...my frist thought...racoons? Then i saw a tail. There must have been about 15- 20 good sized ig's just hanging out. Ive never ever seen that many in one place before! So we snuck up from the opposite side of the lake and got really close to them. They had better coloring than any ig's ive seen in captivity they were bright orange on their dewlaps and bellies and bright yellow underneth their legs and they all had perfect tails and tall spikes and i cant even begin to describe how magnificent they all looked just hanging out in the sun. I got in pretty close to see that one had unusually tall spikes on his back and he was dif from all the rest, i didnt get a good look because he was also the most afraid and ran away when he saw us...(is their another breed that has higher spikes on their backs?) Anyhow..most of them ran away when they saw us esept for this one med. sized one that stayed and looked at us...he was about 4 1/2 maybe 5 feet and really fat!..we started bobbing our feet and he'd look at us then put his dewlap out and bobed his head. it was the cuteset thing! then he got mad cause our feet i guess were looking pretty dominant and hopped into this mangrove and bobbed his head before climbing to an even higher branch and doing the same. it was the coolest thing hanging out with this one ig. we sat there watching hi for about 30 min before he decide to jump in the water. So for anyone looking for some good iguana sight seeing in miami go to mathes and hammock park. [i prolly spelled it wrong] thought i'd share since u all love ig's :") byes.
