Herp vets

I'm planning on taking Maverick to the vet next week when Murphy the cat has to go to get his ear infection checked. My vet, New London, has a exotic animal vet who sees the iguanas. How do you tell if he/she is good? Also, what's the best way to transport an ig....it's cold here in Delaware and I don't want Mavvie to catch a chill. I thought about getting a small cat carrier and warming up a heating pad to put in it before I leave the house. Maverick is still small enough to fit in one :)

I can't wait to find out for sure if she is really a girl. I think she is, but you can never be sure, especially with a small ig.
