: I buy greens two-three times a week. I make the salad in the food processor and keep in an air tight bowl.
: I am hearing that winter squash keeps better outside the refridgerator. Anyone else hear this?
I buy my iguana butternut squash. I never had it before I got an iguana and it is delicious.
What I do -- cut it in half and scoop out the seeds (both sides). I put a few knife slits in each one and wrap it in a plastic bag. I nuke them until they're soft. When it cools down (I usually make half at a time), I mash it and keep it in a plastic container in the refrigerator. I usually mix the crushed calcium carbonate and the alfalfa tea in with it. Each day, I take a spoonful and put it on a plastic lid (that's what I put my iggie's food on) and nuke it l0 seconds (until the chill is off).
