: we have had our male iguana brutus for over 8 years and he is about 10 years old. we let him have free roam of our large den. it is more like his big cage that he lets us sit in. he has a large pond w/deck and waterfall several basking places and large windows. my problem is he has ALWAYS gone poop in the water but the last few weeks he goes on the floor near the glass doors. sometimes he even does small amounts else where. what is up?his diet is the same and he is not acting strange in any other way. we have 3 new baby lizards in this room as of around 2 months. they are small and in cages. could he be marking bkz of them?even though they are diffrent breeds. this room is really built around him and i hate the thought of after all this time putting him in a cage. would love any help thanks

I would say your iguana is DEFINITELY showing his displeasure over the new arrivals. My iguana is trained to "go" in the tub in the morning and for the rest of the day I have a vinyl tablecloth covered with a towel on the bed in the room she's in. She always goes on it, UNLESS........I'm not home for the weekend and someone else watches her -- then the day I get back, she goes anywhere BUT the towel.
