anyone else have fruit fly problems?

Hi.......I am new to forums, and have never posted before so bare with me if the question seems stupid. This seems like a great place for very valuable information.
I have 4 adult iguanas and feed them fresh fruits and veggies every morning......within an hour I have pesty little fruit flies circling around the food that they might be saving for later.Anyone know of a safe way of avoiding these pests besides putting in a baby chameleon? Just kidding....I appreciate any advice. Thanks
