: You should be fine with those temps.
Thanks. I just wanted to be sure I wasn't supjecting them to harmful temps.
: Josh's monitor ever get fixed?
Yes, and amazingly fast. The guy had it done by the next evening! It was about 250.00 for a new motherboard, but we couldn't complain, since we thought the whole $1,200 unit was toast.
: How're things at the shop? You guys must be busy with trade show season coming up....;) Tell him we said Hi....
Thanks. I will.
Yep, things are crazy around here, but we're making very good progress towards the show. Getting excited. His new model of speakers knock the socks off of his old ones, which were pretty darn impressive in their own right. All in all, things are going well, and the trade show in Vegas should prove both enjoyable and profitable.
I emailed John at Herpsupplies.com to ask about buying some actives from him. He actually replied in the same evening! Now that's service! It was great to reach out to an online company and find that there was a living, breathing human being on the other side. He answered all my questions and was very professional. Thanks for the reference!
Speaking of Actives, I have a question for you: We're in the process of building a jumbo cage for Beebs and Bobbs. It will be something like 8'tall X 4' wide X 8' long. Do you think that two active bulbs (one at each basking spot) will be enough to heat the cage? Also, what wattage of bulb do you think would be best for us? I was initially thinking of just getting two 100 watt floods, but I'd like a second opinion. Do you think that a higher wattage would be better? Could I even use the highest wattage available since they will be mounted up at around 7 or so feet up? I want to do this right. Would a spot bulb be better or a flood to hang over the basking spot?
To give you a mental image of the cage that we will build, it's probably going to be a long rectangular shape, with two basking spots--one at each end. I envision some comfy digs for the igs to climb up on, and some foilage to hide in. But the overall idea is a huge, long, tall cage with two "nests" in it for the igs.
I know you're busy, but if you can find some time to give this some thought, I'd really appreciate it. We don't want to have to do this all over again. This is the "cage to end all cages", as Josh puts it. I just want it to be the best it can be, since in all likely hood, this will be the last one Josh will build for them.
Thanks for your help and friendship...And please tell Jenna hi from me. How's Jack?
