: This is Iggy (now known as Squiggy). He's between 8 and 12 years old depending on who in his former family you talk to. They were so proud of the great care that they'd given Squig but a sister was moving back home and they needed his room for her. As soon as Steph carried him in the door it was apparent that he was dehydrated, undernourished and thin, and while he was getting a bath I was stroking him and checking out his extremities and I felt the muscle twitches and tremors of severe calcium deficiency. We gave him a taste of NeoCalglucon and then were at the vet's within the hour for a calcium shot. After 2 more shots on the following 2 days the tremors have ceased. We were told that he had the occasional pinky as a baby and as an adult a treat of chicken now and then. His diet for the last several months has consisted of spinach, sweet potato and squash but I was told he hasn't been eating well for the last few weeks. His UVB light was over a year old and he had no additional heat lamps. He did, however, have an elaborate perch built for him that was over 7 feet tall. No fresh water available ever (they don't drink water, do they?) and only an occasional shower. I guess what really irritates me is that these people knew better. The adult daughter frequently came into the pet store where my daughter worked to buy crix for her Beardie and would talk to Steph about the iguana and get the proper information. Squigg is a big, beautiful, sweet boy and altho I'm not happy about his condition I am happy that he's now here and I hope we can get him healthy and content.
