I would absolutely recommend one for DD. I feel that RHP's compliment Active bulbs nicely as they can taka up any slack as far as ambient temps during the day and are an excellent heat source for night use as you obviously lose the Active for heat at night.
As far as size, I will admit that I am at a loss as far as that is concerned. I haven't had a chance to play with any sizes other than the one that we have for Mel. Since Mel's easily heats our entire dining room as well as her enclosure (remember - no doors) I would think that somewhere between the 7"x12" 25watt panel and the 12"x18" 75w panel would do nicely. I also HIGHLY recommend getting some form of temperature controller as the panels themselves do not come with their own temperature controls...
