skin disease ? blisters?

my freinds green iguana got blisters underneath his armpits. now they have all popped and he has fleshy spots on him that seem to really hurt him. we took him to the vets but all he says is that its normal? how in the hell can this be normal. if anyone has heard of this before please help. or if anyone knows of a vet in maryland that actually knows something about reptiles please tell me. thanks alot. - Vanessa
