There are really no pros. The best you could hope for is that they get along. And of course the gratification of helping 2 igs instead of one!

The worst problems would be: disease/parasite tranmission from the new one to yours or vice versa. One could be intimidated and not eat, growing weaker and thinner. Also, one could be very aggressive and cause horrible wounds to the other (we've seen faces and limbs torn apart). Sometimes this happens out of the blue when you think they get along fine.

If you have taken one in, I suggest you keep them separated (Quarantine the new one for a couple months...have a fresh stool sample checked). And, after that time, you could see how they do out and about together, but I wouldn't house them in the same enclosure. If one stops eating, make sure that they do not have visual contact during the day. Your new one could also become very jealous.

One other thing, if you end up with the opposite sex, you may end up with baby igs (and that is something you don't want, seeing as there are a million people dumping their unwanted igs everyday).

Good luck with this and just remember to supervise them when they are together.
