few questions on toes and tails

: Borris, ive had since laborday, when my dad found him in his back yard and brought him to me. He was looking kinda brown and skinny and the owners didnt try to find him and when i touch him he gets really defensive, so i think maybe his previous home was not a good one. Anyway Borris is about 3 feet maybe a little less, and his tail except for a couple inches where its really fat right at the base, the rest is all brown, is this normal? is it supposed to be green? if so will the green come back soon? Also on his back leg two toes dont have nails and they are shorter and they are bent, I think he hurt them some how, do you think he will ever grow them back totally? It doesnt seem to bother him when he climbs hes a great climber. Thanks : Ian
