HSUS activity and momentum

we've had an interesting weekend...I think its brought to light (probably not much new light...) some interesting things that I've been thinking about and would like to see if ny of you have had of these same thoughts.
We all know that neither the HSUS petition or our petition has any legal standing whatsoever, and with the exception of showing that 1700 people cared enough to sign the petition, it means little more than a "gallup poll". It has rallied some herpers who are hungry for the chance to try and get other herpers to be responsible. It has been a catalyst for conversation, the vast majority of which has been positive. I hope we can all help Nick get a list together of "responsible herp owners must..." and I'll help him get it posted on as many websites as I can. No point in infighting, let see if we can use this momentum to get more things going. Maybe we can work on a ban against wc in petstores...we could talk about it...maybe a letter writing campaign to get all pet stores to give GOOD care sheets. maybe a campaign of "letters to the editor" lots of good things can happen...lets keep this going...
